FAQs

This page lists frequently asked questions (FAQs).  If your question is not answered please use the contact form and I’ll reply as soon as possible.

Q: Why are all the measurements in inches rather than centimeters?
A: Some of the UK and US retailers only give measurements in inches so I have adopted inches. In addition most of the visitors to this site are from the UK and US. If there are enough requests I’ll replicate the tables in centimeters.

Q: Why haven’t you included my favorite brand?
A:  The website is work-in-progress and I can only work on it part-time. I recently added Amazon Buttoned Down, Express and Hugo Boss. I’m aiming to add Gap next. If you have a recommendation for a shirt maker I should include please let me know using the contact form.

Q: How should the shirt measurements compare to the body measurements?
A:When comparing the shirt measurements and your body measurements remember:

  • For the chest the shirt circumference should be six inches larger than the body measurement for a comfortable fit. Four inches for a tighter fit.
  • For the waist the shirt circumference should be four inches larger than the body measurement for a comfortable fit. Three inches for a tighter fit.
